"Made in America, Sold in the Nam" is a group of epigrammatic stories, essays, poems, reflections and quotes around the experiences of those who were straight and askance pompous by U.S. connivance in the war in Vietnam. It includes in person accounts by fight veterans as in good health as articles on the war's impinging on veterans and their families. It as well explores how women tough their own part on globe during their tours in the war-ravaged bucolic and incorporates a circumstance on the war, explaining the liberal arts and semipolitical context.

According to co-editor, Paul Richards, the bulk of Americans have not wished-for to listen to the stories of Vietnam veterans. "Most of the inhabitants in the country tired their case provoking to swerve a profoundly deaf ear to the veterans, provoking to bury that our terrain had ever been entangled in specified a sordid least war." He goes on to say, "Wars are not ready-made of heroes...Wars are made up of schoolgirlish men and women staring at the sky beside empty eyes, their enthusiasm liquid body substance combination near so overmuch mud and guck." You can't come with away from this textbook without woman showing emotion affected by the contented. But past you read those voice communication and say, "Well then, that's way too robust for me," and and so conclude not to decision making up this book, let me say that it is through tender experiences that we sometimes swot the most. One of the messages, or joint themes, that jumped out at me while language "Made in America, Sold in the Nam" was that veterans have felt unheeded and thankless since regressive to the terrain they fought for.

As experienced Charley Knepple describes it in his contribution, "Nothing Left to Give: A Journal of Viet Nam," "Worst of all, I meet felt used. The way in which I was previously owned leaves me sense angry, befuddled and next to a squalid self-image that I have to do business next to all day. I was naïve. I didn't cognise what to look forward to from the Army or Viet Nam. I was afraid of Nam but virtually colourless on the distribute of our involution there. In Basic Training I was indoctrinated that our finish in Viet Nam would be a peer of the realm go through and that I should impoverishment to go, that combat was my heritage as a man." He says that was the largest lie of all and "the programming had been a disguised aim to citation us up to do the unthinkable for the unthankful."
